The new crack Hero posted in the comments got the game running to the main menu and such, but when I try to start the actual game, it crashes during loading. :(

Not sure if it's a problem with the game itself though.

Old Crack crashes. New crack works, but as soon as i start a new game, it brings me to the loading screen, and after that i get a black screen. I can press tab to view the notes, but for the rest i get a black screen. Any tips?

UPDATE for those getting a black screen after loading.

It's a problem with the game, to get past it, try this:

Turn on subtitles in the options. When you start the new game, you should see the subtitles displaying.

After a few moments, a page pops up on the screen. Click continue, wait a bit more, then a camera HUD should come up for a brief moment.

After that, wait until you see a dot in the middle of the screen, and in the bottom left it should say something like "Game Saved". After you see that, hit ESC and save and quit the game, then exit the game completely.

Start the game up again, and click "Continue" and you should be able to play! :)
